When you’re thinking about getting an air conditioning unit installed in the workplace, you may be wondering which kind of unit to go for. Different air conditioning units are better suited to different types of workplaces, based primarily on their size and function. So, here’s a guide to the different air conditioning units we stock at Air Conditioning World and which ones work best for different workplace environments.

Wall Mounted

Wall mounted air conditioners are the most popular form of AC units used in the UK. They work by eliminating warm air from a room, and their affordability and flexibility in their aesthetic and positioning make them suitable for a wide range of applications and ideal for small business spaces.

These units can be mounted on almost any wall and are positioned at a high, unobtrusive level, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the background. Their small size makes them better suited to smaller areas such as offices, small shops and bedrooms in hotels. Unlike large, industrial units, a wall mounted air conditioner is much quieter with no strong gusts, allowing workers to work peacefully, or guests in a hotel to sleep without being disturbed.

Wall mounted air conditioners are valuable space savers, and they provide a hassle-free option that does not require any storage – they are great for premises that do not have false or suspended ceilings to install cooling systems into.

Ceiling Cassette

Ceiling cassette air conditioners have been increasing in popularity in commercial settings and are often a necessity in modern buildings. They are great for offices, retail stores and warehouses, as they can keep temperatures comfortable for both staff and customers.

Products and services often need to be in a saleable and working condition, and temperatures are often crucial to this. A server room, for example, generates a lot of heat and requires cooling to ensure they do not overheat – air conditioning is the ideal solution for this.

A ceiling cassette air conditioner takes in warm air, moves it along an element that contains refrigerant, and this lowers the temperature of the outputted air. Their design is incredibly space-saving as they are mounted in the ceiling, pointing in the direction of the floor, providing excellent coverage for open-plan areas.

They are easy to install into false/suspended ceilings while freeing up wall and floor space to provide an unobtrusive aesthetic.

Under Ceiling

Under ceiling air conditioning is similar to ceiling cassette air conditioning in the fact that it is mounted on the ceiling. However, they are more appropriate for settings that do not benefit from a false or suspended ceiling to install the system into. They are installed just below ceiling height, and although perhaps not as aesthetically pleasing, they are more powerful.

Due to their increased power, under ceiling air conditioner units are ideal for large and open commercial settings such as fast-food restaurants, bakeries, large shops, warehousing and schools. Anywhere that is likely to have a high volume of air circulation in an environment that requires a space-saving solution could benefit from one of these units.

The airflow is provided over a long distance, and the units fit into longer, more narrow premises, providing energy-efficient airflow. And with their increased power levels, you are likely to require fewer units to cool the entire space than with smaller wall mounted units.

Ducted

Ducted air conditioners are a discreet choice for aesthetically pleasing cooling. These units are concealed in the ceiling, providing seamless integration into the premises with only the controller and discharge grills visible after installation.

Operated remotely with easy temperature control and zones with set-and-forget timers, ducted air conditioners offer a high level of flexibility across a number of different spaces. Ducted air conditioning provides flawless air distribution with no cold or hot spots, making these units ideal for open-plan spaces.

Now that summer in the UK is truly getting underway, you’re probably thinking about switching on the workplace air conditioner for your employees. Overheated workers won’t be able to concentrate efficiently on the job at hand, lowering their productivity, so air conditioners are certainly a God send during the hot summer months.

However, if your air conditioner has been sitting idle throughout winter and autumn, then it may have built up dust and debris. A dirty air conditioner will circulate unclean air, which can trigger allergies and allergic reactions, as well as lower the overall air quality.

So, before the summer really kicks in, you’ll need to make sure that you run all the appropriate checks and maintenance so your air conditioner will run efficiently all summer long. Here’s where to start:

Change the Filters

Dirty filters will cause an air conditioner to work harder to move the air around the space as it fights to get around the dust and debris caught in the filters. It can also create an unhealthy work environment as the filters circulate the dust in the air that people are breathing in.

Filters should be changed or cleaned regularly to keep the system running smoothly. Twice a year should do, or whenever they look clogged with dust. Make sure this is done at the start of the summer when the unit is going to see the most usage.

Sort Out the Settings

Air conditioning units vary a lot, some come with remote controls whilst others are operated with thermostats. Whichever model you have, make sure you set the correct settings for usage at the start of its summer use.

For a work environment, you’ll want to set it to come on at the start of the working day and switch off at end. Fortunately, many models – such as the ones we have at Air Conditioning World – come with an app, so you can control the unit through your smartphone. You’ll have complete control over the temperature in the workplace or home from your own device.

Check the Air Ducts

Take a look around the air conditioning unit’s duct work to check everything is in order. There shouldn’t be any obstructions inside as these can block the air flow and lead to inadequate cooling. Make sure there are no holes or chinks in the ductwork and that all the seals are intact. It also wouldn’t hurt to get your ductwork cleaned out by a professional if you can smell any bad odours or there is any visible mould.

Clear Any Debris from Outdoor Condenser Units

After sitting outdoors for the past half a year, the outdoor condenser may have become covered with leaves and debris, which you should clean away. Make sure the unit is switched off completely and clear the debris from the top and around the base. You can clean the blower’s fan blades using a vacuum or a rag. Consult your unit’s manual for instructions on how to dismantle it if you want to give it a thorough clean, otherwise bring in a professional to do it for you.

Test the Unit

It’s always a good idea to test your unit to ensure it’s working efficiently. Turn on the unit and have a play around with the temperature controls to ensure that the settings are working as they should be. Try to schedule some time on a weekend when your employees aren’t working to make sure it’s functioning properly. Then if you discover any problems, or the unit isn’t turning on at all, you’ll have time to get a professional in to have a look before the start of the working week.

Your employees won’t want to work in a sweltering office with a broken air conditioner, so make sure everything is in working order within plenty of time before the high temperatures of the summer really start to kick in.

At Air Conditioning World, we can provide you with a wall mounted air conditioner for both commercial and domestic use. We believe in providing great quality and excellent value to help you improve the productivity and enjoyment of the home or workspace.

As we head into the warmer seasons, employers have a responsibility to ensure their workplace is a suitable temperature for their employees. Last summer was one of the warmest on record for the UK, and this trend can be expected to continue into this year.

When people get overheated, their ability to concentrate drops significantly. So, if you want to ensure your employees can do their jobs adequately, their workplace needs to be kept sufficiently cool. Here are some things you can do for your workers and workplace this summer to help them combat the heat:

Loosen Up on the Dress Code

Wearing loose, cool clothing is incredibly important in the summer, and some workplace dress codes are not suited to high temperatures. If your workplace has a strict dress code that includes the likes of blazers and trousers, consider allowing for more casual dress on the hottest days so employees can keep cool.

Men’s suits are not effective for keeping cool, so if an employee isn’t attending an important meeting with a client that day perhaps allow them to wear shorts or linen trousers to help with the heat.

Provide Hydration

Dehydration can cause overheating. Make sure you offer plenty of water to your workers that’s available throughout the day. Whether it’s by making sure there’s a water bottle on every desk or ensuring that water coolers are installed in the office that have the option of chilled or ice-cold water to help them cool down and maintain a comfortable temperature.

Rearrange the Office

Some desks in the office are probably directly in the line of sunlight by being close to the windows. For the people who sit at these desks, they are likely to get uncomfortable and experience higher levels of heat exposure than others in the office. Consider rearranging the layout of the office and moving these desks to a cooler area, so no work spaces are exposed to direct sunlight. Or you could move the employee to a different desk on days when the weather is particularly hot, so they don’t overheat at their desk.

Provide Shaded Areas Outdoors

If your workplace has an outdoor area where employees can take breaks, make sure it has adequate shade. Consider parasols or canopies in the garden area to provide a shaded area for workers. This will allow them to take a break and get some fresh air whilst still keeping cool. If you try to create a nice, communal area for your workers, perhaps with some seating and somewhere to eat their lunch, it’s likely to increase their overall job satisfaction, too.

Close the Blinds

Large windows act as a serious suntrap. Make sure you have blinds or curtains installed that can prevent sunlight from entering and heating up the office. Keep them drawn during the hottest parts of the day to block out the sunshine and keep everyone, and all the furniture inside, cool.

Allow for Breaks

Aside from their usual break times, some workplaces will call for more breaks to be taken during the summer months. If you have workers spending extended lengths of time working outdoors in the sun, they should be allowed to take breaks more frequently to go inside and cool down. This could be as frequently as a 15-minute break for every hour worked, depending on how high the temperature is.

You may be concerned about productivity levels, but research shows that distributing the workload evenly over the day and incorporating work/rest cycles helps to prevent job burnout and improves overall job satisfaction. Not to mention reducing the danger of any workers suffering from heat stroke from working under the sun for too long.

Invest in Air Conditioning

Air conditioning units are the fastest way to cool a warm building and maintain a comfortable temperature. Consider getting an air conditioner installed in areas of the workplace where employees spend most of the working day and set it to be on during the hottest parts of the day so everyone can stay cool.

At Cool Tech Air Conditioning, we have a range of air conditioning units available such as the wall mounted air conditioner. Our popular range is known for its aesthetic appeal and flexibility. Contact us today to find out more about any of our air conditioning units.

Air conditioners have transformed how we live our lives; no longer are the masses forced to endure the sweltering heat of the summer months. The warm weather might not be here yet, but soon it will be time to start thinking about swapping that warmth for the nice breeze of cool air.

The likes of café, shops and restaurants have benefitted greatly from this incredible invention, and nowadays air conditioning is expected as standard in any building that consumers frequent. But how did the air conditioner come to be? And how did people cope with the heat before air conditioners? Read on to find out everything you need to know about this marvellous creation.

Early Cooling Attempts

Attempts were made to control indoor temperatures in Ancient Rome, where wealthy citizens took advantage of the remarkable aqueduct system to circulate cool water through the walls of their homes. The emperor Elagabalus took things a step further in the third century by building a mountain of snow – imported from the mountains – in the garden next to his villa to keep cool during the summer.

During the Dark Ages the effort to fight the heat virtually disappeared and did not resurface in the West until the 1800s when American engineers actually began to tackle the problem. In the intervening years, hand-held fans were the coolant of choice. Hand fans were used in China as early as 3,000 years ago, and a Chinese inventor is credited with the first room-sized rotary fan that was powered by hand.

Architecture also played a role in preventing excessive heat. In traditional Middle Eastern construction, windows faced away from the sun and larger builders featured ‘wind towers’ designed to catch and circulate the breeze. The biggest breakthrough would eventually come with electricity.

The Evils of High Temperatures

In the 1840s, physician and inventor Dr. John Gorrie of Florida proposed the idea of cooling cities to relieve residents of what he called ‘the evils of high temperatures’. The idea was to create artificial ice, as at that time ice was transported by boat from the northern lakes. Goorie believed cooling was the key to avoiding diseases like malaria and for making patients more comfortable. Shipping ice into Florida was a rudimentary system for cooling the hospital rooms that needed changing.

He began to experiment with artificial cooling and designed a machine that created ice using a compressor that was powered by either horse, water, wind-driven sails or stream. He obtained a patent for it in 1851 but he was unsuccessful at bringing this technology to the marketplace. His invention did, however, lay the foundation for modern air conditioning and refrigeration.

Willis Carrier and the Wrinkled Pages

Willis Carrier is the man credited with the invention of modern air conditioning. After the work of Gorrie, the world of artificial cooling stagnated for a few years until engineer Willis Carrier took a job that would result in the creation of the first modern electrical air conditioning unit. Whilst working for the Buffalo Forge Company in 1902, he was tasked with solving a humidity problem that was causing magazine pages to wrinkle at Sackett-Wilhelms Lithographing and Publishing Company in Brooklyn.

Carrier began experiments, and he designed a system that sent air through coils filled with cold water, which cooled the air whilst removing moisture to control the humidity. He secured a patent for his ‘apparatus for treating air’, which could both humidify (by heating water) or dehumidify (by cooling water). It wasn’t long before he realised that this kind of humidity control could benefit many other industries; he broke off from Buffalo Forge and formed Carrier Engineering Corporation.

The Public Experiences Comfort Cooling

The publics’ first exposure to comfort cooling was at the St Louis World’s Fair in 1904, where organisers used mechanical refrigeration to cool the Missouri State Building. 35,000 cubic feet of air per minute was used to cool the 1000-seat auditorium.

In 1922, the Carrier Engineering Corporation installed the first well-designed cooling system for theatres in Metropolitan Theatre in Los Angeles, it pumped cool air through high vents for humidity control and comfort. In May 1922 at Rivoli Theatre in New York, Carrier debuted a new type of system that used a centrifugal chiller, which had fewer moving parts and compressor stages than existing units. The breakthrough system increased the reliability and lowered the cost of large-scale air conditioners, greatly expanding their use throughout the country.

Air Conditioners Become Affordable

For a long time, these systems were far too large and expensive for homes. The first attempts to bring air conditioners into homes ended up having rather disastrous consequences. Synthesized chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) coolants became the world’s first non-flammable refrigeration fluids, which improved the safety of air conditioners. However, these chemicals would later be linked to the depletion of the ozone layer and were eventually phased out by governments all across the globe after the Montreal Protocol in the 1990s.

Home cooling systems got smaller after a patent was filed for an air conditioning unit that could be placed on a window ledge. These units hit the market in 1932 but were not widely sold due to their high costs. Engineer Henry Galson went on to develop a more compact, inexpensive version that began to sell. By the late 1960s, most new homes in the US had central air conditioning.

The quest for comfortable temperatures has been long fought, and today air conditioners are more affordable than ever and can be installed in most homes.

As the cold weather rocks the UK, business owners across the country are no doubt concerned about the rocketing price of their energy bills during these chilly months. Implementing some simple energy saving measures into your business operations can save a lot of money in the long run, with the added benefit of reducing your carbon footprint and environmental impact.

You need to be able to strike a balance between energy efficiency and catering to the comfort of your employees. Afterall, you still have a duty to ensure the workplace maintains a suitable temperature. However, with a few simple, non-intrusive changes to how your workplace operates, you will be able to create a more energy efficient environment without sacrificing the comfort of your workforce. Here are just a few things to consider for your business:

Switch Off Electronics

This may seem like an obvious point, but you would be surprised at just how much electricity is wasted by computers, monitors and printers alike when they are left idle. Computers and laptops in stand by mode may use less power, but they’re still consuming about a third of the power of one that’s in use. Make sure your employees switch off their computers and/or laptops in the evening before they leave. Consider making it someone’s job to ensure everything is switched off before they leave the office. If you have everything plugged into power strips, then these can be switched off at the mains as the last job to do before you lock up for the night.

Draught Excluders

Heating a workplace can be a costly job, especially if you have a large building that requires various heaters throughout the space. An awful lot of heat is lost under the gaps in doors, so make sure you eliminate the possibility of losing all of that heat by installing draught excluders.

Natural Light

To help save on electricity usage, try to make the most out of the available natural light. This might be trickier during the winter months with the sun setting much earlier in the evening, but you should try to let as much natural light in as possible. If you have anything blocking the windows, such as plants or large pieces of equipment, consider moving things around so the window is completely clear, allowing as much natural light as possible to spill into the building.

Double Glazing

If possible, you should consider getting all of the windows in your business fitted with double glazing. Double glazing is an incredibly efficient way of retaining heat in a room by reducing the amount that can escape outside. With double glazed windows, you should be able to turn the heating down by a couple of degrees in the building, saving more energy and knocking some pounds off of the heating bill.

Motion Detector Lights

Let’s face it, when you work in a building full of so many people, not everyone is going to be great at remembering to switch the lights off when they leave a room. Whilst everyone remembering to do this would be ideal, it’s just not realistic. By investing in motion detector lights for certain rooms like toilets and corridors, you can be assured that the lights will always be switched off when no one is occupying these spaces.

Encourage Staff Involvement

Trying to be more energy efficient shouldn’t be a one-person endeavour, it will work the most effectively if everyone gets involved. Send around a staff-wide newsletter or hold a meeting about the new energy-saving measures that are being put in place to get everyone on board with the changes; encourage everyone to offer suggestions for how things could be improved further. By making it part of the work environment and culture of your business, employees will be more likely to get involved and become active in saving energy.

Programmable Thermostats

Heating and air conditioning units should be used efficiently throughout the year to save energy. The easiest way to do this is by programming them to turn on only when needed and keep them off at times when the building is not going to be occupied. Most modern units will be programmable in this way, so when you get them installed make sure you consult the manual and learn how you can programme them to work in the most energy-efficient way possible.

Often understood to be one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century, air conditioning has developed significantly over the last hundred years. It has replaced much more elementary and less effective forms of air cooling, including rotary fans which originated in second century China.

Despite the huge advancements we have seen in air conditioning since its invention, it is predicted that the technology will continue to progress significantly in the years to come.

Here is a look at the evolution of air conditioning to present day, and what we can expect from air conditioning in the future.

Past

To look at the first attempts at controlling indoor temperatures, we must go all the way back to Ancient Rome, where wealthy citizens were able to cleverly make use of the aqueduct system to circulate cold water through the walls of their homes.

The efforts of the Romans may have been inventive but realistically, this was never going to be a system that revolutionised indoor cooling.

The first modern electric air conditioning unit was invented in 1902 by Willis Haviland Carrier, a skilled engineer from New York. Carrier set out to solve a major humidity problem at Sackett-Wilhelms Lithographing and Publishing Company, where he worked at the time.

The company was suffering from a slightly unusual problem; the high levels of humidity in the plant were causing magazine papers to wrinkle. Although Carrier’s initial efforts with humidity control were not focused on providing relief from the heat, his invention ultimately became the primary method of air conditioning around the world.

His ingenious system pumped air through coils filled with cold water, cooling the air whilst simultaneously removing moisture to control room humidity. The system he designed could be used to either humidify or, more usefully in his situation, dehumidify the air. In 1922, Carrier followed up his original air conditioning unit with the invention of the centrifugal chiller where he added a central compressor to reduce the unit’s size.

Carrier soon realised that air conditioning could benefit many other industries. His invention was publicly unveiled in 1925 and went on to shape 20th century America. Air conditioning became more common in movie theatres, giving rise to the summer blockbuster, and it soon spread to retail stores and offices, leading to a rise in workers’ summer productivity.

Residential air conditioning took longer to become widespread, but once the system became prevalent in homes, particularly in more tropical areas, this incredibly sparked a long-term change in the US population. Sun Belt cities such as Houston, Los Angeles and Dallas that had previously been uncomfortable in the summer months became attractive places to live and work.

The invention of air conditioning not only solved a humidity problem in a Brooklyn publishing company; it was partly responsible for the economic development of several American cities.

Present

Today’s air conditioners operate on the same fundamental science as Carrier’s original system, but as you would expect, are much more sophisticated now than the 1902 invention. Air conditioning units today incorporate advancements in vapour compression, electronic sensors and energy efficiency.

Air conditioning has arguably changed from a luxury to a necessity in the industrialised world, and the impact air conditioning has had on our modern way of life continues into the 21st century. Air conditioners have become more prevalent in the homes of developed nations. For instance, the proportion of air-conditioned homes in Chinese cities jumped from under 10% to more than two-thirds in just 10 years. The demand is also growing in developing nations like India, Brazil and Indonesia where the market for air conditioners is expanding at double-digit rates.

Much of the growth in air conditioning is down to its productivity-enhancing effects as economists have confirmed a relationship between higher levels of productivity and keeping cool. Hotter average temperatures often result in a less productive workforce, which is one of the primary factors behind the substantial investment in air conditioning units in the modern workplace.

Future

The demand for air cooling is set to continue to grow, particularly in developing nations that are urbanising at rapid rates. Eleven of the world’s largest cities are in the tropics, and air conditioning will play a significant role in the development of the world’s expanding metropolises.

New air conditioning units can be operated through smartphone apps, and it is likely that air conditioning will continue to become further integrated into people’s homes. Voice activated technology has boomed in popularity, and it is expected that future air conditioning units could be controlled through simple voice activation commands.

The cooling industry has made efforts to improve the design of air conditioning units by making them smaller, lighter and more attractive, while providing consumers with a much larger selection. It is expected that the emphasis will remain on products becoming smaller and with greater levels of personalisation, enabling them to fit into the pre-existing design of buildings.

In order to curb greenhouse gas emissions, air conditioners of the future will have to be more energy-efficient. With this in mind, the innovative technology behind magnetic air conditioners is likely to rise in popularity. These air conditioners cool air by quickly exposing magnetocaloric material to a magnetic field. Although these units still require electricity to function, they help to keep our homes cooler without increasing external temperatures and are more energy-efficient than traditional air conditioners.

Air conditioners will continue to play a large role in society in the years to come, and here at Cool Tech Air Conditioning, we supply a range of different units for your homes and businesses. To find out more about our products and services, get in touch with us today and we will be happy to help.

In recent months, we have been looking at the importance of air conditioning within your business, ready and prepared for the warmer summer months that are (hopefully!) nearly upon us.

With benefits including greater overall productivity, efficiency and employee happiness, it is clear to see how opting for a sufficient air conditioning system can benefit your company in the long term.

So where do you start? With hundreds of systems to choose from, this month we are taking a look at under ceiling air conditioners, their benefits, and the fantastic options that we have available here at Cool Tech Air Conditioning.

What is an Under Ceiling Air Conditioner?

An under ceiling air conditioner is exactly what it says on the tin; flat air conditioning systems that are mounted underneath a ceiling, providing cool air whilst simultaneously taking up minimum space.

Under ceiling units are the most powerful on the market, are more cost-effective in installation costs when compared with other conditioning units and free up valuable wall space, providing a brilliant solution to the temperature within the space that they are mounted.

Favoured for many properties, their cost-effectiveness and power being a couple, under ceiling air conditioners time and time again prove most effective in an office or small building environment.

How Do Under Ceiling Air Conditioners Work?

Beginning its life in 1902, the first modern electrical air conditioning unit was invented by Willis Carrier in New York State.

Working in a publishing company, Carrier frequently discovered depleting paperwork and magazines due to the humidity and heat in the warehouse. In light of this, Carrier devised the very first air conditioning unit, which performed the following four basic functions:

Control Temperature

Control Humidity

Control Air Circulation and Ventilation

Cleanse the Air

The machine sent air through cold coils which were filled with water, which in turn cooled the air. This has been redeveloped and improved over time, into the influential invention that is used widely around the world, today.

Modern day air conditioners work in a similar way, yet now in a much more compact operation. Air is sucked into the ducts through a vent, which is then used to cool gas and remove heat from the air. Ducts then blow the cool air back out into the space and are very effective in removing heat and humidity within the desired area.

The Benefits of an Under Ceiling Air Conditioner

As already mentioned, the benefits of an effective air conditioning unit are in abundance. First and foremost, specifically within a business, cool air in the environment allows the individual to be comfortable and happy in their workplace.

This, in turn, creates a more productive workspace, allowing the employee to perform to the best of their abilities in pleasing surroundings.

Air conditioning units are also commended for their health benefits. This is due to the fact that they help circulate and filter indoor air, removing allergens and other pollutants in the area.

Our Products

Here at Cool Tech Air Conditioning, we have an extensive range of under ceiling air conditioners.

The Daiken FLXS35B9 is a ceiling mounted inverter system that can be installed as either a wall unit or a ceiling unit and is suitable for multi-model application.

The LG UV36.NK2/UU36W.UO2 is also a ceiling suspended system that is fast cooling, cost saving and quiet, making it perfect for your company.

Alternatively, we also have a fantastic range of ceiling cassette systems that differ to the under ceiling systems as they slot into a false ceiling, rather than sit underneath an existing one.

Ceiling cassette systems tend to be of a slightly lower power output than its under ceiling counterparts, yet share similarities including their energy efficiency and quiet operation.

These are only a couple of examples of the vast selection of air conditioning units that we have on offer. Whichever system you believe would suit your company better, our expert and friendly advisers are on hand to offer support and guidance, from installation to maintenance.

It’s official – we are now well and truly in Spring.

Between March 20th and June 21st, the UK welcomes Spring back for another year, for a season full of transformation and change: the flowers begin to bloom, freshly born lambs inhabit the fields and the sky changes from miserable grey to (hopefully!) bright blues.

As has recently been enjoyed, the turn in season has brought along with it stunning sunshine and temperatures which have been hotter than Greece.

With the sudden change in weather, we all hold our breath with crossed fingers for the continuation of sunnier, warmer days…but what does this mean for your building temperature?

The Importance of Air Conditioning

This year, some parts of the UK have already been recorded to have experienced record highs of 24°C, meaning that work spaces without air conditioning could prove to become too warm, stuffy and uncomfortable very quickly.

Employees are more likely to become stressed, tired and sick in warmer environments, reducing productivity during working hours whilst increasing the probability of sick days within your workforce.

With so many factors to consider, as a business owner, you might be asking yourself whether you can really afford not to install an air conditioning system.

In addition, summer is just around the corner, potentially bringing with it longer days and even warmer temperatures – now is the time to prepare your building for the rising heat.

Options from Cool Tech Air Conditioning

Here at Cool Tech Air Conditioning, we have a range of excellent options available to suit businesses and buildings of all sizes.

Within many industries, myths arise which can be easily believed. There are a number of myths associated with air conditioners, but here at Cool Tech Air Conditioning, we want to set the record straight on some of the popular myths many believe are to be true.

Specialising in air conditioning systems, we offer a huge variety of different types, including under ceiling air conditioners. Below, we have debunked the most common myths.

Myth #1: Closing Vents Reduces Energy Costs

This myth is commonly heard within the air conditioning industry. Shutting vents can actually result in your air conditioner working less efficiently, as it does not allow the air to flow through your home the way it is designed to. If there are sections of your interior you would like to keep shut off from your air conditioning, professionals can help.

Myth #2: Not Using Your Air Conditioner Lengthens Its Life Span

Although you may think that not using your air conditioning system will extend its lifespan, this is not the case. Think of your air conditioner as a car, not using it for a while is not good for it. Although using your air conditioner can cause wear and tear after time, not using it can result in other problems which could require repair.

Myth #3: A Service is Only Needed if an Issue Arises

This is a popular myth which continues to circle the air. Regular maintenance checks and services keeps your air conditioning system working properly and efficiently. Regular services are also a great way to identify any problems which may arise or have gone undetected.

Myth #4: Ceiling Fans Work Just Like an Air Conditioner

Although this may seem true, ceiling fans do not cool the air, they simply move the air around. In hot conditions, ceiling fans can cool you down, but they do not bring the temperature down within the room.

Myth #5: Using Your Air Conditioner Can Give You a Cold

Colds are caused by viruses, not the temperature. This means the cool air from your air conditioning system cannot give you a cold illness.

These are just a few of the many myths involving air conditioners. These products are an essential tool for everyday life. At Cool Tech Air Conditioning, we offer a huge range of air conditioners which suit everybody’s needs.

If you would like to find out more about our under ceiling air conditioners, or other products we stock, get in touch with us today by calling 01204 292707 or emailing sales@airconditioningworld.co.uk, and we will be happy to help.

The conclusion of this article was clear; sufficient air conditioning directly affects productivity, employee motivation, the individual’s personal happiness, and can even impact employee health, both physical and mental.

Ensuring that your employees are at their optimum health capability whilst in the workplace is your responsibility as their employer.

One of the most simple ways of encouraging this is through a comfortable working environment.

The Benefits of Under Ceiling Units Over Wall Mounted

With an under ceiling air conditioner unit, your business can benefit from several advantages.

First and foremost, the positioning of the units is considered one of the safest for employees, as they tend to be out of physical reach. This reduces the risk of employees falling over the units, or experiencing any discomfort from the high level of heat that the systems deliver.

Secondly, the units save valuable space within a business. Gone are the days that enormous systems had to be installed in offices or industrial areas, taking up valuable areas which could be used for further productivity.

Finally, under ceiling units are quiet systems, meaning that little or no interruptions can be experienced by your employees. With the regular flow of heat across the entire room, you can be confident that employees will be comfortable with the temperature that the systems produce.
